Anthropic has publicly revealed its previously secretive AI-powered wet lab, which has already made its first discovery: a novel protein structure. This milestone demonstrates how combining AI prediction with automated lab experiments can accelerate biological research and drug development.
Anthropic has quietly established a biology lab to advance its AI-driven drug discovery program, enabling the company to test AI-generated hypotheses in real-world biological systems and potentially speed up the development of new treatments.
OpenAI has introduced Genebench-Pro, a new benchmark designed to evaluate AI models on complex genetic research tasks. The benchmark tests models on real-world challenges like predicting gene expression and identifying disease-causing mutations, aiming to accelerate progress in computational biology.
OpenAI introduced GeneBench-Pro, a new benchmark for evaluating AI performance in genomics and biology. It uses real-world datasets to test how well AI models handle complex scientific problems.
Anthropic released Claude Fable 5, its most powerful AI model yet, but it avoids answering basic biology questions. Instead, it redirects these queries to an older model. This limits the new model's usefulness for simple educational tasks.
OpenAI's GPT-Rosalind now has enhanced biological reasoning, medicinal chemistry expertise, genomics analysis, and experimental workflow capabilities. This helps scientists analyze genomes and design experiments faster, accelerating drug discovery and genetic studies.
Researchers introduce LABBench2, a benchmark to evaluate AI systems' ability to perform practical biology research. The new benchmark focuses on real-world capabilities beyond just knowledge and reasoning.
