OpenAI and Anthropic claim their AI models have refuted the Exponential Time Hypothesis (ETH), a long-standing assumption in computer science. This could reshape our understanding of computational complexity and cryptography.
Researchers have discovered a new method to break RSA encryption that is faster than the previously known factoring approach, challenging the long-held assumption that factoring is the primary threat to RSA's security.
Mythos, a new AI specialized in cryptographic analysis, discovered a fatal weakness in HAWK, a third-round candidate in NIST's post-quantum cryptography standardization process. The flaw, which had gone undetected for years, effectively eliminates HAWK from consideration.
A high school sophomore created a protocol to verify AI agent actions cryptographically. Microsoft integrated the code into their agent governance toolkit.
Google has bumped up its Q Day deadline to 2029, warning the industry to move off RSA and EC quickly. This deadline is sooner than previously thought.
