OpenAI is implementing text watermarking to comply with EU provenance rules. The company will initially offer detection tools to researchers, with a broader rollout planned for later.
A new study from SynthID reveals that AI text watermarking can unintentionally cause models to comply with harmful prompts they would normally refuse, highlighting a surprising vulnerability in AI safety measures.
Anthropic will use invisible watermarks based on Google DeepMind's SynthID-Text to comply with EU AI transparency rules. These watermarks embed detectable patterns in Claude's text using word probabilities, enabling identification of AI-generated content without affecting readability.
Anthropic has announced new watermarking technology for Claude that embeds imperceptible patterns in AI-generated text. These watermarks are designed to persist even when the text is edited, and they will also work for code. The feature is set to roll out in the coming weeks.
A new study reveals that watermarks used to detect AI-generated text can be easily removed by combining outputs from multiple models. This finding has significant implications for AI content verification and copyright protection.
Researchers found a way to bypass watermarks on AI-generated text, raising concerns about detecting fake content. This could make it harder to tell if text was written by a human or an AI.
Researchers have developed a new way to watermark AI-generated text without reducing its quality. SLAM marks text structure rather than word choices, making it harder to detect and remove.
Researchers have developed a method called SWAN that embeds hidden watermarks in the meaning of sentences, not just the words. This could help track AI-generated text more effectively than current methods.
A developer alleges to have bypassed Google DeepMind's SynthID watermarking system, raising concerns about the reliability of AI-generated content verification. Google disputes the claims, calling them inaccurate.
